Beekeeping 101 Illinois Extension
Thank you to all who attended the University of Illinois Extension in Murphysboro, Bee Keeping 101!

Our community gathered to learn from Kenny Fischer, a beekeeper from Arrowhead Apiary, who shared his extensive knowledge and experience in this Beekeeping 101 course. The discussion covered the essential steps of beekeeping, from considering what's needed before getting bees to how to obtain, maintain, and care for them, as well as the process of harvesting honey. The event also highlighted the valuable services offered by the University of Illinois Extension, with Maggie Ray on hand to share information about their local programs.

This program was made possible through the generous support of the Transition to Organic Partnership Program. This organization exists to provide technical assistance and comprehensive support for farmers transitioning to and maintaining organic practices, helping to build a more resilient food system in our region.
