Our community gathered at Main Street Pastures in St. Rose, IL, for a free event that focused on the valuable practices of multi-species grazing and direct meat marketing. This pasture walk educated attendees on sustainable farming, the benefits of integrating different animal species into the grazing system, and the positive impact of buying meat directly from small-scale farmers. The event truly showcased the importance of strengthening local food systems.

This program was made possible through the generous support of Food Works and the Transition to Organic Partnership Program. This organization exists to provide technical assistance and comprehensive support for farmers transitioning to and maintaining organic practices, helping to build a more resilient food system in our region.
