Sol Farm Solar Array Tours

Join Food Works Sol Farm staff for a guided tour inside Sol Systems’ solar array in Eldorado, Illinois. These tours are part of the Farm Crawl and will give attendees a closer look at agrivoltaics and how farming and solar energy can work together.

Interactive games and activities will also be set up in the Operations and Maintenance Building parking lot to help visitors learn more about agrivoltaics.

Tour Times:

Three guided tours will be offered:

  • 1:00 p.m.
  • 3:00 p.m.
  • 5:00 p.m.

Space may be limited, so advance registration is required for anyone who wants to tour inside the solar array.

Registration Required

All participants who wish to enter the solar array must pre-register using the sign-up form on this page.

Please note: registering online reserves your spot for the tour, but the liability waiver will be signed on-site before entry. Waiver signing will not take place through this website.

Required Safety Steps

Before entering the solar array, all tour participants must:

  • Pre-register for one of the scheduled tour times
  • Sign a liability waiver on-site
  • Complete an on-site safety briefing
  • Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment and clothing listed below

Required Clothing and PPE

For safety reasons, anyone entering the solar array must wear:

  • Closed-toe tennis shoes or boots
  • Pants that cover the ankles
  • A shirt with sleeves — no tank tops
  • Safety glasses, which will be provided on-site
  • A helmet, which will be provided on-site

Participants who do not meet these clothing and safety requirements may not be able to enter the solar array.

Liability Waiver

All tour participants will be required to sign a liability waiver on-site before entering the solar array. You may review the waiver text in advance here:

Sol Systems Tours - Farm Crawl Registration

Pre-registration is required for all participants who wish to tour inside the Sol Systems solar array during Farm Crawl. Tours will be offered at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. at the Sol Farm location in Eldorado, Illinois. Please complete the registration form below to reserve your spot for one tour time. Interactive activities will also be available in the parking lot, but anyone entering the solar array for a guided tour must be registered in advance and meet all safety requirements.

Before submitting, please review the tour requirements carefully. All participants entering the solar array must sign a liability waiver on-site, complete a brief safety briefing, and wear the required clothing and Personal Protective Equipment.

Required clothing includes closed-toe tennis shoes or boots, pants that cover the ankles, and a shirt with sleeves. Tank tops are not allowed. Safety glasses and helmets will be provided on-site.

Please attend the tour time you select during registration. Tour spots are limited, and if you arrive for a different tour time than the one you registered for, entry is not guaranteed if that tour is already full.
